Investigators Make Arrest For June Fire Near Coleman Fish Hatchery

An arrest has been made for a fire a couple of weeks ago in Southern Shasta County. It was on Coleman Fish Hatchery Road on June 22nd, and responding crews with Cal Fire/Shasta County Fire found fresh scrape marks on the asphalt through the area of the fire. Investigators followed the tracks to their source, a pickup truck with a trailer hitched to it that was parked outside a home. The trailer was missing rear tire and the wheel had significant damage that corresponded with the scrape marks on the roadway. 45-year-old Michael Wright apparently identified himself as the driver and admitted to driving more than 4 miles knowing about the damaged wheel. Wright was arrested for unlawfully causing a fire and reckless driving.
