A bill has been passed by the House of Representatives that removes regulatory restrictions from the use of chemical retardant on wildfires. The bill bypasses permitting delays that may result from the Clean Water Act. Additional restrictions were imposed by a court ruling two years ago. The bill removing those restrictions was sponsored by Congressman Doug LaMalfa.
