Late Night Fire Destroys Houseboat On Lake Shasta

A houseboat went up in flames on Lake Shasta in a Midnight inferno. The fire was reported shortly before Midnight Wednesday night in the area of Little Backbone Inlet, which is off the Sacramento Arm of the lake. The houseboat was fully involved in flames, which spread to thick vegetation on the shoreline. The vegetation fire was contained at less than a half acre of dense timber. The houseboat was a total loss. There were ten people on the boat when the fire broke out. They managed to escape without injury.
