A sparse audience turned out Thursday night for a candidate forum hosted by the League of Women Voters of the Redding area. 7 of the 8 candidates for the District 2 Congressional Seat fielded questions from the audience at the Cascade Theatre. The incumbent is Democrat Jared Huffman, who’s the ranking minority member on the Natural Resources Committee. District 2 will include Shasta County following redistricting. The next forum will include the candidates for Shasta County Board of Supervisors District 1 on Wednesday the 15th from 5PM to 6:30PM at the Redding Library Community Room. The District 5 Supervisor candidates will meet the following evening, Thursday the 16th, from 6PM to 8PM at the Frontier Senior Center in Anderson. The two candidates for County Clerk and Registrar of Voters will meet Wednesday the 22nd from 5PM to 6:30PM in the Redding Library Community Room.
