A Redding man faces charges including attempted murder for a domestic violence incident. 48-year-old Juan Ramon Avila was arrested last Wednesday and arraigned on Friday. His victim had a compressed spine and was paralyzed from the neck down from his alleged abuse. He then reportedly tortured her for another ten minutes before calling for emergency help. He’s in jail on $500,000 bail. He returns to court November 12th.
