Tehama County Deputies have arrested a man for felony animal cruelty. Last Wednesday neighbors of Jerry Haley in Red Bluff reported seeing him killing the family dog. He reportedly struck the Chihuahua/Yorkie mix repeatedly in the head with a trailer hitch. Deputies say they later found the dog discarded in a trash can. When deputies tried to arrest Haley he apparently refused to come outside and barricaded his front door. Deputies returned several times until they caught him outside on Saturday and arrested him.
