A vegetation fire broke out Thursday morning in the Mount Shasta Vista area of Siskiyou County, and an arrest has been made in connection to it. There was no structural threat from the fire, first reported at 5:45AM. Forward progress of the “Norman Fire” was stopped at 8.5 acres. After investigators interviewed witnesses, 47-year-old Neng Thao of Weed was arrested and booked into jail on four charges, including two felony counts of arson.
