A man has avoided trial by pleading guilty to child abuse in a Shasta County courtroom. 28-year-old Robert Gray Jr was arrested by Shasta County Deputies in April. He had caused bruising and abrasions to the heads, faces and bodies of two children, ages 2 and 3. He pleaded guilty Thursday to multiple charges and admitted a prior strike. He’ll be sentenced in October to more than 13 years in state prison.
