An elder abuse trial has concluded in Tehama County with a guilty verdict. 39-year-old Shayne Austin Collins of Gerber attacked the elderly victim on June 16th, striking him multiple times on his head and body. The victim was knocked out cold and suffered a major head injury. A jury found Collins guilty of two felony charges Thursday. He’ll be sentenced January 8th and faces up to 7 years in state prison.
