A 20-year-old man has been convicted of opening fire at a Redding fast food restaurant 2-and-a-half years ago. In March of 2024 it was 3AM when Trevon Gage Evanoff got into a verbal dispute with someone in another car in the drive through of Jack in the Box on East Cypress Avenue. The others drove away and as they did, Evanoff fired shots at them from a semi-auto handgun. Apparently nobody was struck. He then apologized to the Jack in the Box employees, paid for his food, and left. On Thursday a jury found him guilty of attempted voluntary manslaughter and other charges. Evanoff is also a co-defendant in a South Redding double murder. In the very early morning of October 4th, 2024 five people were shot on Meadowbrook Drive off Westside Road next to the Westwood Village Shopping Center. Two of the victims died: 30-year-old Winfred Avant Jr and 22-year-old Isaiah Jacob Stanley. That case is still pending.
