A convicted Redding murderer has been sentenced to almost a Century in prison. At around 3AM on October 4th of 2020, 35-year-old Emmanuel Vega was shot at the AM/PM at Buenaventura and Railroad Avenue. He died a short time later. Witnesses and surveillance footage led to 33-year-old James Joshua Noyes. His many arrests include for drugs, theft, domestic violence, DUI, concealed weapons and resisting arrest. He went to prison for burglary in 2008 and seriously injured another prisoner while he was there. Noyes was still on parole at the time of the killing. The day before the murder Noyes was arrested for Methamphetamine possession, but because the jail was near capacity he was released a few hours later. After investigators identified Noyes, he was captured after a 100 mile an hour chase that started in North Redding and ended when he tried to exit Interstate 5 at Knighton Road and the car spun out and hit a fence. Noyes tried to flee on foot but ran right in front of a police car and got hit, then was apprehended by a K9. He was convicted in February and a couple of weeks ago Noyes was sentenced to 92 years to life in state prison.
