Man Who Gave Police His Brother’s Name During Traffic Stop Sentenced To 6 Months In Jail

When giving a false name to law enforcement, it’s a good idea to give the name of someone who’s not wanted by police. 56-year-old Thomas Ray Talley of Corning had been arrested with metal knuckles and failed to appear in court. When he was later pulled over by Red Bluff Police with a large quantity of Marijuana in his car, he knew he had active warrants so he gave officers the name of his older brother Kevin Talley. The trouble was, his brother had an active warrant for domestic violence. Thomas also had a Billy Club in his possession. Another time he was caught trying to sell Methamphetamine in the parking lot of a Corning grocery store. After pleading guilty to several charges, Thomas Talley has been given a 6 month jail sentence and a 5 year prison sentence that’s suspended on condition of 2 years probation.
