Another source of mental health services in Shasta County is being dropped due to a shift in state funding. The Kings View Sunrise Mountain Wellness Center in Redding closed June 30th, and Health and Human Services had planned to serve the patients with a clubhouse model, but that’s not going to happen. Kings View had provided behavioral health and social services to around 120 clients, including 20 in “assisted outpatient treatment”, which is a court-ordered program for mental health patients prone to violence. County staff will continue to meet individually with clients as they transition to other services.
