There are only a couple of zones still under evacuation orders and warnings from the Milepost 18 Fire north of Hoopa. It’s now 71% contained at 7,582 acres in steep and rugged terrain. Highway 96 is open under controlled conditions that are subject to change.
A fire Thursday afternoon was threatening structures in the Mount Shasta Vista Subdivision in Siskiyou County. An evacuation order and several warnings were issued for Bonanza Road and Rosebud Lane, but the fire was contained at 3 acres.
A fire started late Thursday morning off Ager Road in the Montague area, prompting evacuations. It was encircled by a dozer line within an hour and contained to 16 acres.
A fire on the Anderson Grade north of Yreka was held to a quarter acre Thursday night.
