The MP 18 fire north of Hoopa, is now 26% contained after burning 7,147 acres in steep and rugged terrain. There are more than 2,000 personnel working the fire. Evacuation orders and warnings remain in effect. Highway 96 remains closed.
A fire broke out Tuesday night off Highway A-12 in the Big Springs area of Siskiyou County, prompting evacuation warnings. It was stopped at just over 6 acres.
A fire started Tuesday afternoon in the Corning area off Liberal Avenue and Old Corning Road. It was stopped at 7-and-a-half acres.
