Murder Trial Delayed For Man Accused Of Shooting Two Family Members

A murder trial has been delayed for a Redding man accused of shooting his mother and brother. Last September 2nd, Redding Police arrived at a home on Abernathy Lane to find Chastity Milenewicz and Anthony Penta shot to death. 32-year-old Jesse Penta was arrested at the scene. He’s charged with two counts of murder, as well as a special allegation of murder for financial gain. After being evaluated by two doctors for mental competency, Penta chose to fire his counsel and represent himself. A jury trial was set to begin Wednesday, but last week Penta requested a delay. New dates will be set on Friday.
