A trial for Tyler McCain will not take place until at least February. McCain is accused of killing his wife and the mother of his children, Nikki Saelee-McCain, to prevent her from testifying against him for domestic violence. She vanished in May of 2024 and was the subject of an intensive search campaign, but her body was never found. Tyler is facing a dozen charges in the case. Trial had been set for later this month, but on Monday McCain’s attorney made a motion for another delay and it was granted. It’s now set to begin February 23rd, but the attorney, Michael Borges, has said he sought the delay in order to prepare a motion for a change of venue because he doesn’t believe an impartial jury can be found in Shasta County. Tyler remains in jail without bail.
