No Votes On Effort To Recall Supervisor Crye Now Ahead By 39 Votes

The District One Supervisor Kevin Crye recall count is now about as tight as it gets, now led by just 39 more votes opposed than in favor. Crye might keep his seat after all, but District 4 Supervisor Patrick Jones is almost sure to be defeated as Matt Plummer now has 61.5%. In District 3, Mary Rickert maintains a safe lead with 42%. She’s most likely to face Corkey Harmon in November as he has 31% and Win Carpenter has 27%. In District 2, Allen Long’s chances of avoiding a runoff have slimmed as he now has just over 51%. He may face Laura Hobbs in the Fall. She has almost 19%, which is 106 votes ahead of Dan Sloan. Susanne Baremore trails with 13%.

Shasta County’s ballot measure C to limit supervisors to two terms is safe to call with 76%. Measure D to change from a common law government to a charter county leads with 54.4%.

As of Tuesday’s update, the Shasta County Elections Department has processed 45,306 ballots. With almost 112,800 registered voters, that makes a voter turnout of just over 40% so far. That percentage will increase as there are still 9,171 unprocessed ballots. The next update will be this Friday.
