Despite a struggling economy, Northern Californians stepped up for Tuesday’s North State Giving Tuesday with a preliminary total of $1,454,629. That was the count from 7,850 individual donations to 219 organizations processed by the Community Foundation of the North State. As usual, the top recipient was a Siskiyou County organization. Siskiyou Land trust took in just over $70,000 followed by Shasta County’s Exodus Farms Ministry with $68,300. Rounding out the top 5 were Siskiyou Humane Society, Mount Shasta Museum Association and Shasta Family YMCA. This year fell a bit short of last year’s record draw of $1,631,000.
