Police say a Redding man was selling raffle tickets, with the prize being a large bag of Fentanyl. The Neighborhood Police Unit made a traffic stop Friday to serve a search warrant on 32-year-old Joseph Holcomb. There were two young children in the backseat and between them was a backpack that police say contained Fentanyl and money. The children were taken into custody and a search was then done at Holcomb’s home on Echo Road. That’s where a large number of raffle tickets was apparently found, each with a name written down. Officers then moved on to Holcomb’s two storage units on Parkview Avenue, where they reportedly found almost Three Pounds of Fentanyl, more than $65,000 and nearly $2,800 worth of stolen goods from Redding retail stores. Police say Holcomb had been trading Fentanyl for stolen merchandise. He was booked for multiple felony drug dealing charges and child abuse. Police say he faces at least 10 years in prison for having over a Kilogram of Fentanyl.
