Nuerologist Convicted Of Sexually Assaulting Patients Ordered To Pay 4K In Restitution

Hamid Rabiee, a former Redding Neurologist serving 27 years in prison for sexually assaulting patients, returned to court Monday for a restitution hearing. Rabiee was charged in 2018 with scores of felony counts after a large number of female patients accused him of touching their intimate areas during exams, under the guise of legitimate medical treatment. Each of the women approached law enforcement independently before they knew of the other accusers. Rabiee pleaded not guilty on all counts as he remained behind bars for 4-and-a-half years. In 2022 a Shasta County jury convicted Rabiee of all 63 counts against him, as well as all enhancements. At Monday’s hearing he was ordered to pay a little more than $4,000. Then he was taken back to Corcoran State Prison.
