The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office conducted a retail tobacco sting operation in cooperation with the Health and Human Services Agency. On Thursday a decoy under the age of 21 tried to buy tobacco products at 28 different stores. Only one of them agreed to make the sale. A clerk at the Country Market on Happy Valley Road was given a misdemeanor citation. The operation was paid for by a state grant.
