A series of pot busts was made last week by the Shasta County Sheriff’s Marijuana Eradication Team. 27 search warrants were served on 42 parcels of private property in the Cottonwood and Oak Run areas. A total of 18,446 plants were destroyed along with 1,492 Pounds of processed bud. 6 guns were found, one felony arrest was made and 7 complaints were filed with the DA’s Office. Cal-Fire Officers helped in the busts and reportedly found 29 fires with illegal materials, 14 burn barrels with illegal materials and 15 gas engines within 10 feet of dry vegetation. The Sheriff’s Office says they believe all the properties are associated with drug trafficking organizations.
