A round of grants has been awarded to charitable organizations by the Community Foundation of the North State, which manages funds for many Northern California non-profits. They also run “North State Giving Tuesday” the week after Thanksgiving. $24,000 has been given through the Animal Welfare Fund to 16 organizations in Shasta, Siskiyou and Tehama Counties, mostly shelters and spay and neuter campaigns, as well as some equine therapy ranches. $12,500 has been awarded to five organizations through the Community Arts Endowment. $35,000 has been given to six recipients in the Intermountain Area through the Burney Regional Community Fund.
