The ballots from the November 2024 election have been destroyed. It was finally done Saturday, nearly a month after the 22 month deadline set by state and federal law. It’s usually a routine activity but there was a flurry of controversy as county elections chief Clint Curtis kept the ballots locked up at the Elections Office despite repeated missed appointments with the shredder and admonishments from county and state officials. When the shredding service arrived on Saturday, a few dozen people who had gathered at the Elections Office tried to prevent the truck with the mobile shredding machine from parking. They relented when asked to do so by Clint Curtis. They claimed the documents being shredded may have included proof of fraud, as suggested by Curtis. November 2024 was problematic due to ink over-spray on some ballots.
