A pedestrian was struck and killed by a train in South Redding Monday evening. The unidentified victim was hit by a northbound locomotive just south of the Bonnyview crossing. It happened just before the 5 O’clock rush hour and with the train blocking the Bonnyview and Girvan crossings, traffic had to be diverted north on Eastside Road to Breslauer Way, causing major delays. The Coroner’s Office will release the name of the deceased after family is notified.
