A woman died last night while trying to cross Lake Boulevard after she was struck by two separate vehicles. Redding Police were called at 11:19PM Tuesday night to Lake near Clay Street. Officers say the woman had been crossing outside of a marked crosswalk and was wearing dark clothing when she was hit by an eastbound Chrysler van. The van stopped and the driver and passengers were trying to help the woman in the roadway when a 1977 Chevy pickup came along and ran over her. She was declared dead at the scene. Police say alcohol and drugs are not suspected for either of the drivers.
