A man who’s considered armed and dangerous is wanted for a murder committed last week in Corning. At around 12:30PM on the afternoon of April 9th officers were called to the Salado Orchard Apartments on Toomes Avenue. They found 30-year-old Michael Rodriguez of Orland on the top banister of a staircase. He was suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper torso, and later died. Area residents were told to keep their doors locked while police searched for the shooter, but no information on a suspect was released until Thursday. Investigators say the shooting was not gang-related as they first suspected, but they do believe it was drug related. The suspected killer is 36-year-old Rafael Ruvalcaba. He’s a Hispanic man with black hair and brown eyes, 5-foot-3 and 145 pounds. His alias is “Sicko” and authorities say he has a history of violence. Anyone who sees Ruvalcaba or has information about his whereabouts is urged to call Tehama County Major Crimes at 529-7900. His photo is on the KQMS Facebook Page.
