A 56-year-old Tehama County man has been sentenced for crimes committed as a result of paranoid drug-induced delusions. On December 2nd Daniel Dennis Fries was driving on Highway 99 toward Chico when he started calling 9-1-1 and saying he has been shot multiple times. He then pulled into the Cal Fire Helitac Station at Vina and rammed through the gate, causing significant damage. Fries actually had not been shot at all, but was under the influence of too much Methamphetamine and was suffering the intoxicating effects. Fries has been sentenced to 6 months in jail with a 2 year prison sentence that’s suspended under the condition of 2 years probation. He also must pay restitution to Cal Fire for breaking their gate.
