Public Health Says The Measles Outbreak Ended March 30th

Shasta County Public Health says a Measles diagnosis identified on March 23rd was mistaken. A confirmatory test has ruled out Measles for the patient. That means the county’s Measles outbreak officially ended on March 30th with a total of nine cases. The first case was identified January 30th, and all the patients have fully recovered. Officials want to remind the public that the MMR Vaccine is 93% effective with one dose and 97% effective with two doses. Vaccination status can be checked at myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov.
