A public hearing will be held Thursday by the Redding City Council to address an appeal filed against a proposed subdivision in West Redding. The Peaks would be 120 houses built on 114 acres off Quartz Hill Road. Neighbors have objected to the plan, saying that there’s not enough capacity for egress in the event of a catastrophic wildfire or other disaster. The location is in the same area where a fire tornado ripped through during the Carr Fire. Staff is recommending that the appeal be denied. Thursday’s meeting begins at 5:30PM.
