The City of Anderson has hired an interim police chief until a permanent replacement can be found for Chief Jon Poleski. He had been hired as Anderson’s chief in 2021 after two decades of service for Redding Police Department. The interim chief is Greg Baarts, who recently retired last year after serving 25 years as the CHP Northern Division Commander. Many have applied for the chief’s job, with the application period closing Monday. Interviews will take place over the next several weeks.
