A Red Bluff couple has been ordered to answer to charges surrounding the death of their 3-month-old baby. On April 28th Red Bluff Police were called to the Super 8 Motel on Gilmore road on a report of a baby that had stopped breathing. Officers attempted CPR, and arriving firefighters and EMT’s continued trying to revive the baby girl. She regained a pulse and was taken to Saint Elizabeth Hospital and then transferred to UC Davis Medical Center, where she later died. Although she was only 3-months-old, the baby had suffered multiple significant injuries during her short life, which contributed to her death. The parents, 21-year-old Zaire Butler and 23-year-old Allie Power, had a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, and it was determined that there’s sufficient evidence for them to stand trial for child abuse and murder. Both remain in Tehama County Jail on no bail.
