Redding Attorney Sentenced For 2023 Electric Scooter Crash

A Redding attorney has been sentenced for injuring a man while riding an electric scooter after she had been drinking. In November of 2023 Lisa Marie Jensen was driving the scooter on a sidewalk when she struck a pedestrian from behind. Redding Police found her to be under the influence of alcohol, though apparently under the legal limit, but any alcohol in her system was a crime due to priors. The scooter falls under the definition of a powered vehicle. A jury found her guilty in February of DUI causing injury and reckless driving causing injury, with special allegations of great bodily injury and for having a prior DUI conviction within ten years. On Friday Jensen was sentenced to 60 days in jail, 5 years formal probation, a 3 year drivers license suspension and drunk driving school.
