A Redding Gynecologist accused of sexual battery will not have to appear at his next court appearance. Dr. Jorge Pena was arraigned last month for misdemeanor sexual battery and misdemeanor battery. Last year a nurse accused Dr. Pena of unwanted physical contact during work hours at Mercy Medical Center. Pena had a settlement conference scheduled for last week, but it was continued to December 11th. Dr. Pena will not have to be in court for that hearing. His attorney has been approved to appear without Pena being present.
