Redding Library Re-opens

The long awaited re-opening of the Redding Library is Tuesday. It closed last August for the installation of fresh floors and carpets, but then an opportunity arose for some more dramatic improvements. A nearly $800,000 state grant has allowed various modernization of the Library, including a new family area on the main level, more public computers, and improved study spaces upstairs. The seating and shelving has been reconfigured for better flow and browsing. There are 36 new security cameras for the safety of visitors, and a backup generator will allow services to continue through power outages. Standard opening hours will be Monday through Thursday from 10 to 7 and Friday through Sunday from 10 to 6. Several events are planned for the Library, including the Annual Gala February 21st, Rev Rumble & Roar April 18th and the Summer Reading Program in June and July.
