A Redding man has made a plea deal for intentionally mowing down several people with his car. On February 8th Redding Police were called to Reservoir Lane twice, first for a verbal dispute. The second time, victims and witnesses told officers that 43-year-old Jesse Eneix had made threats and then drove his car at high speed toward the group. Several were able to jump out of the way but two were struck by the car and one was grazed. The two who were struck had minor injuries. A resident provided surveillance video to police and Eneix was stopped while trying to leave the area. Initially booked for driving under the influence and 5 counts of assault with a deadly weapon, the DA’s Office added a charge of attempted murder. Last week Eneix pled no contest to one count of attempted murder. He returns to court May 18th, when he’ll be sentenced to 7 years in state prison.
