A Redding killer has been given a life sentence. 37-year-old Robert Parker Milton murdered 71-year-old William Dressler in August of 2024 in the East Redding neighborhood where both men lived. Milton shot the man and then used a cinder block to finish him. He later claimed he was suffering from delusions. A jury found him guilty in April and also determined he was sane when he did it. At the sentencing hearing Monday, the victim’s ex-wife Bonnie Dressler and daughter Brittany Dressler paid tribute to William and the expressed the deep loss his murder caused. The defense requested that the firearm enhancement be stricken but that was denied. Milton was sentenced to 50 years-to-life in state prison.
