The Redding Police Community Work Program has cleared a lot of debris from homeless camps off Lake Boulevard. More than 11,000 pounds of material was hauled away from illegal encampments near St. Marks Street. The crew also cleared camps from near Canby Road, North Court Street, Oasis, Buenaventura, Westside and the open space at the east end of Cypress Avenue. Camp occupants are given 48 hour notice prior to the cleanups.
