A project that’s been years in planning is opening its doors today in the heart of Downtown Redding. It’s K2 Development’s “Redding Public Market” at 1551 Market Street. It occupies the ground floor of the Market Street Apartments. There are 12 new businesses carefully arranged in the space, creating 150 new local jobs.The Public Market is in the middle of Redding’s new “entertainment zone”, which allows people to walk around on the sidewalks with open alcoholic drinks between 10AM and 10PM if they have a special wristband and a specially marked cup from a participating business.
