A registered sex offender from Round Mountain who was arrested in a sting operation targeting child predators has made a plea deal with prosecutors. Last month, Shasta County Sheriff’s Detectives posed online as children. 39-year-old Joshua Anthony Levan started communicating with someone he thought was 13-years-old and showed sexual interest. An arrest warrant was issued and arrangements were made for a meeting. Levan showed up March 26th at the meeting place intending to have sex with the child. He was booked into jail and a search warrant was served at his home on Terry Mill Road. His own children were placed into temporary custody by the county. Last week Levin pled no contest to contact with a minor for a sexual offense and meeting a minor for lewd purposes. Levin, who was already on probation, will be sentenced May 6th. He’ll be a registered sex offender for life and may not own any guns.
