The runway rehabilitation operation at Redding Regional Airport is finished and the airport has reopened for daytime flights. New runway lights will need to be inspected by the FAA before the runway can be used at night or in bad weather. Due to the federal shutdown, it’s not known when that inspection will take place. The $25 Million project shut down the airport for a month. Improvements included resurfacing the runway and blast pads, upgrading runway lighting to LEDs and replacing all the signage on the airfield.
