Redding Police say alcohol was a factor in a serious collision on Lake Boulevard Friday night. Just before 9 O’clock a Honda Odyssey van driven by 23-year-old Anthony Martin was southbound. Police say he was driving too fast and ran a red light at Oasis, then ran into a Mitsubishi sedan that was pulling out of the Dollar General. That sent the van veering across the road, where it hit a bus stop, seriously injuring two men who were sitting there. They were hospitalized, as was Martin, who was later booked into jail on felony charges for allegedly being under the influence of drugs and alcohol. The driver of the Mitsubishi, 41-year-old Michael Wyckoff, and his female passenger were also seriously injured. Police say they were intoxicated as well.
