RPD Arrests Man After He Reportedly Pointed Fake Gun At Community Work Program Officer

An Anderson man is accused of pointing a fake gun at a Redding Police Department employee. Community Work Program Officer Brittany Moore helps with cleaning up homeless camps around town. A little after 8 O’clock Wednesday morning, she was driving a marked RPD pickup truck on Favretto Avenue when a man walking along the side of the road reportedly pointed what looked like a handgun at her. Officers swarmed the area and found 45-year-old Daniel Ferrando in a nearby drainage canal, allegedly in possession of an imitation handgun and several Meth pipes. Ferrando is on parole for burglary and has been arrested eight times within the last year.
