A woman was arrested for felony DUI after causing a crash that left a motorcyclist with major injuries in South Redding Wednesday morning, according to Redding Police. At 9:40AM a 23-year-old man was riding southbound on Highway 273 when 66-year-old Shyla Watson-Barker apparently made a turn directly in front of him in her Lexus SUV. The motorcyclist could not avoid a collision and was ejected. An ambulance was driving behind the motorcycle and the medics were able to immediately render aid to the rider. He was transported to Mercy Hospital and is expected to survive. RPD Officers determined that Watson-Barker was under the influence of alcohol and prescription drugs and she was booked into jail.
