RPD: No Citations Issued During “Shoulder Tap” Operation

A minor decoy alcohol sting done by Redding Police turned out the way it should- in failure. It was a “Shoulder Tap” Operation targeting customers outside liquor and convenience stores. The underage decoy asked people if they would buy alcohol with the decoy’s money, telling them it was because of age. On Friday the 13th the decoys contacted 21 people, but none of them agreed to make the purchase. The penalty is a minimum $1,000 fine and 24 hours community service.
