Redding Police say they’ve traced a series of bicycle thefts to a homeless camp. There had been a trend of stolen bicycles in the Boulder Drive area. Saturday morning officers went there to investigate and while en route they learned of two specialized bikes being stolen from that same area. One of them was found by the victim at a nearby business, and he saw the second bike being ridden by a suspect. Video surveillance was recovered that showed the suspect and after canvassing the area a person was identified. That led to a nearby homeless camp where ten bicycles were found, several of which had been reported stolen. The bikes were worth nearly $10,000. Two people at the camp were arrested for warrants and possession of stolen property. A third person was also arrested for a separate stolen bicycle case. The primary suspect remains under investigation.
