RPD Recovers Stolen Cash After Burglary At From The Hearth Restaurant

Redding Police say a 27-year-old Redding man was on drugs when he did a smash-and-grab burglary at a North Redding restaurant. At 4:42AM Saturday morning, officers responded for a burglar alarm at From the Hearth at the corner of College View Drive and Churn Creek Road. They found a rear window had been broken out enough for someone to climb inside. Other officers stopped a car on the nearby eastbound onramp to Highway 299 driven by Colton Garside. They determined that he was under the influence of a controlled substance and was in possession of cash and a replica pistol. He allegedly admitted to the break-in, saying he had stolen cash from the register and had taken a small safe as well.
