A threat of violence against a West Redding school Wednesday was apparently unfounded. Just before One O’clock someone called Redding Police anonymously and said he was on his way to Manzanita Elementary School to commit a mass shooting. Officers rushed to the campus and searched the grounds and surrounding area, but nothing unusual or suspicious was found. It was a minimum day and school had been dismissed at 12:30PM, so very few students were still present for the lockdown. Police say there were similar calls simultaneously in Reno, Orland, Fresno and Clovis.
