RPD: Teen Arrested After Early Morning Shooting At Hilltop Drive Jack in the Box

Redding Police have arrested a man suspected of a shooting at an East Redding fast food restaurant. At 3 O’clock Thursday morning officers were called for shots fired at Jack in the Box at Hilltop and Cypress. They learned that people in two cars in the drive-through had gotten into a verbal dispute. An occupant of the car to the rear got out and confronted the others and they drove away. As they did, the man fired a gun at their car. He then apologized to the Jack in the Box employees, paid for his food, and left. Apparently nobody was hit by the shots. The RPD investigated and identified their suspect as 18-year-old Trevon Gage Evanoff. At 3:30PM Thursday afternoon Evanoff was arrested and a semi-auto handgun with the serial numbers removed was reportedly found in the car in which he had been riding. A search warrant was acquired for Evanoff’s home on Bell Road and the SWAT Team cleared it for safety before it was searched by detectives. Evanoff is in jail on $100,000 bail.
